Alì S.p.A. is a supermarket chain with more than 110 stores located in Veneto and Emilia Romagna, with around 3,300 employees. Since 1979 Alì has been a partner of Selex which in 2001 joined ESD Italia.
Alì Project
Everyday, MD operators are attentive to any indicator of market changes. Alì has always been receptive towards its customers and their requests, offering first offline and online a customized service to meet their needs.
At the beginning of 2016, after a careful analysis of the market, Alì Spa noticed a change in the way people everyday buy and spend for their shopping, deciding to create an e-commerce service for online shopping.
Ali was also aware that, for a successful project, they would have to share with its customers the choices related to the new e-commerce service, sending them a survey with a specific question: “what name would you give to the new online shopping service?”. Customers, ready and affectionate, coined a name with great added value, “Alì per me!”, which encompassed the efficiency of the online shopping service and the complicity between the parties involved.
Our plan
Digitelematica has welcomed the request of Alì Spa to create a performing management platform and a website in line with the brand image.
Marketsuite, the solution by Digitelematica for the management of online sales was the optimal choice to meet our client requests.
A careful consideration was given to the store picking management. Here are some advantages of the implemented solution:

- Back Office computer for the management and monitoring of the shopping order execution;
- Palmtops for the products pickup with an optimized route for a multi-order execution by department;
- Supporting tools for expenses and in-store activities management (customer reports, mapping reports, statistical reports on stockout, etc.);

Results
The “Alì per me!” Project is still in its first steps. In May 2018 the project was launched for the store of Tombelle (Padua). In June 2018, it was activated for two other stores in Via Chiesanuova and Via Saetta (Padua).
Today, the format is still in a consolidation process. The goal for the next few months is to cover 3% of sales.
During this first rollout phase, to give time to employees and customers to fully understand how the e-commerce project works, it was decided to use a local communication close to the store. This procedure was able to create engaging creative choices related to the life-experience of the territory and its people. Over the next few months the service was activated in other stores and by the end of 2018 Alì had introduced the service to a large area in Padua.
